Well! After over a year of trying, I'm going to get a tachometer installed on my R3T. Gulf Coast Motorcycles in Ft.Myers, Florida, is going to install the KOSO with the water temperature function on my bike. The part are ordered, but the work won't be done until the end of July, as I will be unavailable until then. Their tech has made all of the measurements and says it will fit fine behind the windshield.

I've asked their tech who will be doing the install to keep detailed notes on how to do it and when it is complete, I will post them here.

I also have gone the way of the Garmin ECOroute, and it seems to work fine. My only complaint is that sometimes it is difficult to see do to the Suns glare. I am going to make some sort of shield when I get some spare time.
I think this system will be useful in troubleshooting in the event a system component fails.

Macrider, Ygransom, thanks for that info on shades, it'll save me the trouble of making my own!

I've been using a Scangauge for a couple of years. It will give you RPMs water temp IAT and anything else the OBD2 connector will pass along.

Problem with these type tools is the refresh rate is pretty slow. By the time they report a change in RPMs you're well beyond that point. They're fine to see how many revs you're turning at a given speed and for monitoring other readings, but they're not really a substitute for a proper tach.

Has anyone hooked up the ecoRoute to a Zumo (vs the Nuvi)?

I believe the Zumo has to have to the software so if you can get it on that unit it should work...its the ecoroute software but im not sure its compatible yet
