R3R wheel and tire on a R3T

I never ceased to be amazed at the mileage you Guys are complaining about.
If I get 5K miles I'm real happy.

The mileage I get out of the Rocket's tires is relative to time and money. At only 5,000 miles I'm looking at $1,000 a season. More important is time spent screwing around with maintenance that isn't value added. Each tire replacement is basically a lost day of riding. Replacing one tire vs three makes better use of my time and efforts. Not to missed is the waste of materials.

Just use the Emax, it’s cheap and good, rebates are frequent. Rockymountainatv is your friend. 240/55R16 Emax cost me $130 after the $25 rebate.

Seasonal cost would be $390-$455 depending on rebate availability and it’s sticky enough for just about any riding style.

Loaded like you are 42PSI cold is definitely in order. The only times it’s ever spun unexpectedly is when there is contaminant on the road.

How many burn out's do you do? That is too much rubber, for that many miles. Sounds like something is wrong.

No burn outs, just fat rears. My wife is a little on the scared side and to finally get her to ride with me has completed my riding list. No way do I chance a slip or a one wheel moment.

The tire wear is similar to the wear you would see with running tires too low. Cupping, if you will. I have verified our tire gauge and even add a pound or two of air. I am over 300lbs and I can't mention hers but, together and the weight of the rear we are over the tires rating.

I have purchased all the pieces and placed them on the bike. Just waiting for my son to complete the tig work and the R3R back half will be well on its way.

It is amazing to see such a wide range of rear tire mileages on the same bike. I know I’m kind of hard on rubber and I get about 4K on a R3R rear, OEM tire.

Here is a picture of the tire we are replacing with the typical wear. There is a flashlight over the tire tread and the shadow shows the edges flared on the tread. ' Cupping '

I bought a set of Dunlop Elite 4 tires. Rear has a 900 lb rating.

Here is the R3R rear tire, new also, with the 1100lb rating. 200lb difference.

Also, the Roadster wheel snd tire with Roadster swing arm and final drive installed.

Removed the air box while the swing arm was out. It has the RAMAir filters so we gotta fab up a bracket to hold all the gadgets.

The last picture shows the width difference and mounting requirements of the coil overs. We are going to convert to the Roadster without cutting or welding to the frame. We have a Roadster rear fender and a touring rear fender at the body shop for some work and paint.

Notice the 1'1/4" or so width difference in top coil over mount.

Pretty sure it would be way to much trouble if it was possible and the R3R's don't get any better milage than the R3T's.

I am looking for load capacity over mileage. I have uploaded a picture of the wear. This tire I uploaded a picture of only has a few hundred miles on it. I decided to change it again instead of waiting for the tire noise that comes as it continues to wear.
