I know I'm preaching to the converted for some of you, but just had to let those who haven't changed their back shocks yet know what I've experienced.
Fitted the Progressive 440s on Saturday
I use a left hander that's off camber, bumpy as f*** and on the brow of a hill for tuning suspension at low speeds. I guessed at preload on two rings from top (I have HD springs as I'm 20 stones). I took this bend around fifty and felt a bit of a judder through me arse but it held its line perfectly. Previously it was like rowing coz you're fighting to keep some sort of line while the back end wallowed all over the place and punted you out of the seat (accelerated out of it too hard one time and found meself sitting on the pillion seat).
Next came the long fast sweeper test. For this I use a track, obviously, but you could use a dual carriageway if you weren't as law abiding a citizen as me! Sweeping left then right. It's only been built a few years and is therefore level with a consistant surface. Took it at 110, just short of touching down. Absolutely solid, same goes for slightly slower but uneven surfaces in North Wales.
The difference beggars belief.
The front end seems transformed by replacing the back?!??!!
Top MOD and worth every penny, will save a fortune on not rplacing underwear!!
Can't wait for the sun to come out so I can go play tick with the sports bikes and surprise the bleeding life out of them.
Life's too short not to,
