I call the blipping gear matching. If I'm downshifting hard to slow down fast and don't blip it, I get a major bang going into the next lower gear.

I'm with you. I didn't realize it was detrimental to the mechanical integrity of the bike.

I've been doing it for 45 years and haven't trashed a transmission yet.

I've only been doing it on the street for 13 years but I haven't caused any harm either.

I have an appointment on the 30th. The bike stalled on me again yesterday. Same situation, after decelerating in 2nd and pulling the clutch in. I asked the service manager if diag time was covered under warranty and his response was "I will not know what is and what is not covered until we physically see the bike and I submit a claim" What's everyone's experience regarding diag time and the warranty?

Not on bike but with truck when the repair was warranty work no charge - if repair was not warranty paid for it. How ever I can generaly get the service writer to cut it in half.

More than likely the stepper motor needs adjusted....... I had a similar problem and that's all it was.
