ABS inop after tire change (2016 RIII Roadster)

Had new tires put on by a very reputable and very experienced motorcycle shop
On the way home, I noticed that the ABS light wasn't going off.
They have the bike again and are working it - but I'm curious to know if this is a known thing, if they may have dorked something up, or if there is a special process they needed to follow and maybe didn't.

I've got a low mile 2015 Roadster, which has suffered a rear master failure, and have known of a few abs unit failures...it happens...

Turns out the front sensor cable had gotten pinched and split. Easy fix.
