Post RDU Tassie Trip - Oct 2014

Parking your motor in the saloon you be drinking in is AWESOME!
We have a saloon where you can ride your motor right through the middle of the bar for a promenade; but, must park outside.
Me thinks your way is cooler! Could even pass out right next to your main squeeze!

Getting off the Spirit first thing in the morning we could be in Strahan that day .. have a look around Launceston on the last day .. waiting to cross back over. Really good bike museum at Bicheno on the East Coast. Wineglass Bays pretty special as well. Be neat if we could do the Ghost Tour at Port Arthur .. you get to go into buildings closed during the day.. mean overnighting in Hobart or on the Peninsula .. Tasmanian Devil Park worth a squiz as well .. nasty little critters that they are.
not that I am going unfortunately not enough leave up my sleeve:( but the Ferry to Strahan is very doable the first time I went round Tassie that direction with a group from .com, we got of the ferry and stopped in Ulverstone for a good half hour or more while one of the guys had to sort a mechanical issue at the Triumph dealer there, then we went to Stanley had a slap up slightly late Breakfast then back tracked to the turn off near Burnie and stayed at Strahan that night and had that rippa buffet they have at the pub.
Also a another good tourist thing if you decide not to go to Port Arthur is the Richmond Prison also not far from Hobart.
If you stay at Bicheno there is a nice restaurant (that used to be an Aquarium but now is a restaurant that serves great food) overlooking the water where at night they turn on the lights (about 8pm) outside and you can see the penguins coming up to their nest, you can even go outside and if you are carefull get up close to the cute little buggers, saw more there than the "Penguin Tour" we paid for the day before, the caravan park also has got some cabins at reasonable prices and there is plenty of motel/ pub accommodation there to, beware the servo there only had 91 for those that like the higher octane stuff you may want to fill up before getting there as St Hellens is the nearest after that from memory
For those that have never been to "The Apple Isle" you will love it, have good time and I can almost garante you will be planning more trips there, I have been there 5 times and will go again when I can .... can't get enough of the place:inlove:thumbsup:

Canberra,
Nice pix, Mate!
BTW - Who is that weathered old white haired battler wearing chaps and smoking while sitting on the deck???

:eek::eek::eek:

Got one . . . waiting on the other! :p
Not so bad - just depends on who is wearing them . .

Given we're talking in piece of string terms, I'd say $1200-$2000 or even vaguer at $1000-$2500. More for 2 but not double. What do Ponters or TC reckon?

Twin share rooms cuts the costs down.. A cabin on the Spirit is a must , now I've actually had one... sleeping with the lounge rabble sucks. Reckon, actually hoping Tassie ain't anymore that $1,000-$1,500.
