I can't hear any induction noise on my r3 i have aust made tripple uni filter on rather than triple k&n may be the foam filters dampen sound more ?

From my understanding once Nev has been in there the induction noise is quite alot less. Although I could be wrong - its happened before.:eek:
 
Filter-Plenum MK2

So here we are








Was a bit fiddly as the sound mat was fouling the frame a bit whilst TRYING to refit so I had to excise a bit here and there.

IAT not fitted into the plenum as the PCV-A/T will over rode whatever the ECU decides to do IAT or not.

Been for a quick test run. Quiet - surprisingly so. Seems (seat of pants Dyno) to be more grunty than the single under-tank filter. Not as top end revvy maybe as triple K&N's but then I didn't get above 5000rpms today. MUCH MUCH quieter than triple K&N's.

tbh I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it is. Time will tell.

Ponter's bikes the same , no induction noise. Pretty sure it's because of the higher compression pistons that are in your bikes. Donny's bike has cams but standard pistons and induction noise is pretty bad on his bike.

It is f*cking heavy, mate, relative to uncovered.

Basically a thick rubber shield with heavy aluminium foil. No way it can vibrate or resonate. I'd bet if you did a set of standard plenums - then the intake charge would be several degrees cooler too.

I certainly WILL NOT be refitting triple K&N's EVER.

I may do the original plenum with a thinner laminate I bought at the same time. More for heat than noise. But why not.

There is a tiny bit of whistling at high rpms. But perfectly in keeping with the modified Jardine headers and Thugs combo Sam knocked up for me.

I'd still like to see what RAMAIR come up with though.

PS - It's a shame you're not closer. That noise stuff comes in packs of 5 sheets - and I used less than 1 sheet to do the plenum and inside the claw.

I sure have Mittzy pistons, cams & ported ,tuned for better mid rang torque rather than out rite top end hp

Certainly is, I bought 4 x 500 sq. sheets this afternoon and used one. :( Will be testing tomorrow - keeping my fingers crossed.

I guess I don't understand what this means.
Electronic engine management means you can get the best of everything. Best fuel consumption, excellent response, and best output at all engine speeds and loads. Anyone who tells you differently doesn't know what they are doing when it comes to adjusting calibration (what most call "tuning").

Getting everything right just takes time.
