Hi folks, brand new here and just posted my intro. Two questions kept me searching this site and the web all night.
I know some stuff still from having my T-bird modded and found most of the info I need on the forum but here is what's bugging me.

1) I want to get the Triumph Tors for my bike. Since the original mufflers house the cat that's one problem solved. But there's another problem: the rest of the exhaust, the headers and/or collector seem to be very restrictive. Are the restrictions in both the headers and collector or only one of them? Is there a company that builds a replacement to which I can connect the Triumph Tors?
Yes, I did find the full replacements like Carpenter and Jardins but that's not what I want since they don't allow me to use the Tors. Staintune seems to have replacement mufflers and collector but not the headers.
Or are the original headers fine (not restricted) and could I go with just the Staintune collector and put the Triumph Tors on that?

2) I bet I could find some more on this subject if I read on for another all-nighter but I'm gonna ask anyway.
Can all necessary ECU adjestments be made with software like TuneECU or TuneBoy or can I do more with a Power Commander V?
The bike is going to get intake and exhaust upgrades and I have no problem getting it tuned on a testbench (Tovami). So basically, what are the differences between TuneECU, Tuneboy and PCV and what can or can't I do with them?

Thanks for reading peeps! :)

TuneBoy and TuneECU alter the bike's ECU, but PCV affect the fuel mixtures after the signal leaves the ECU. PCV with AT can alter the mixture on the fly. However, TuneBoy & TuneECU will allow you to do a lot more than just tune the bike. They will allow you to test and adjust all sorts of things in the bike itself. TuneECU is free, and TuneBoy is expensive, but they will do essentially the same things. If you have a HIGHLY modified bike (9,000rpm type modifications) the you will need TuneBoy, otherwise TuneECU is, IMHO, the most useful tool you will ever get for your bike.

invest in tuneboy mate.

Save your money on the tors etc. either ride it as it is for a while or get yourself some reband headers and pipes.

Where are you located?

Allright, thanks a million idk67, that's very clear and basically all I wanted to know on my second question. So I'll need TuneEcu (with the cable) and a PCV as well. I don't really need AT since I want all upgrades done at the same time and have it properly tuned on a test bench. Does TuneEcu come in a Mac version as well? Else I'll have to run it at the tuner.

Located in Belgium.
The Tors I want for their looks and the omission of the cat but without open headers and collectors it 'll be far from perfect.

Not sure if I need a Tuneboy, I don't want to tune it that much.
Basically, what I want is open headers + collector + Tors. Ram-Airbox + remove some restrictions from the original air intake cover.
And then have the ECU setup correctly and add a PCV.

But keep the suggestions coming, I might change my mind in the 2 months I still have to wait! :)

There is not a replacement header you can readily buy on the market so if TORS is what you want your stuck with the OEM Tractor header. That being siad I woudl follow IDK advice since your not going for max power run the tune ecu at least for the diagnostic capabilities of it since its only 20 bucks for a cable I do not think you can run it on a MAc just windows compatible computers. I use Tune boy but have a little 10 inch net book I use it on cheap but functional. I will be making sur eit will nto hook to the internet in April after window quits supporting XP. But I am sur eyou can get a cheap net book with window 8 for tune ecu. It is not needed since your running a 2014 that is supposed to be diretricted in the lower gears. Just pull the secondar throttle plates when you change the intake stuff. (tune ecu will open them for you in every gear if you do not want to pull them)

I figured there was no readily available replacement header. Just called the guy who tuned the T-Bird for me and he says DAM Exhausts (located here in Belgium) might just be willing to make such a thing, they seem to have done custom exhausts for him before. He'll contact them.

Good idea about the netbook, too bad I gave one away last year, thinking I wouldn't need it anymore.
The Triumph dealer told me about the removed restrictions in the three lower gears for the 2014 model.
So all I still need TuneECU for the is adjusting air intake? Can't be done when the PCV is tuned on the test bench?
Anything else I would want to do with TuneECU? Isn't there a speed limit?

If you have TuneECU, and you can get a tuner to tune your bike using TuneECU, then you do not need PCV. TuneECU can set the fuel mixture, timing, idle speed, reset the speed limiter, adjust when the fan starts and stops, and just about anything else you need to do. You may be able to run it on a MAC using a windoze emulator. I don't know, but it won't cost anything to try and find out.

Ah, that's good news as well. Might consider a TuneBoy then since apparently it can do more.
I guess Tuneboy needs a computer as well? Windows i presume?

@warp9.9 Am I correct in thinking you have the carpenter package and a Turbo installed? Plus what else?
What does your hp and torque figures read now? Any page I can find an overview of your mods and some pics?
