I do agree with crOft in that the stock Touring screen caused a lot of buffeting. The bubble seemed to collapse on my ears. I added a Memphis Shades Hot Wing. The buffeting has stopped and I still look over the top of the glass.

Most 'normal' sized screens seem to be exactly the wrong size. They're either too tall or too short for comfort. Personally, I'd rather go without one and have a rider backrest to remove the need to hang on against the wind. But that's me. You just need to decide which way you going to go with your screen - up or down. Either way will improve the buffeting situation, and both have a marked impact on the bikes appearance.

I adjusted my screen yesterday to its lowest position and buffeting has reduced somewhat. It seems to be bearable now at highway speed.

Look at the Clearview with recurve. Works great for me.

I cut a hole in my screen to allow it to vent. That made a huge difference by reducing buffeting. I also use the lowers, because they also work.

That hole in the screen is actually a very interesting idea. Should cut down on the vacuum (or at least lower pressure area) that otherwise forms behind the screen. Vents do the same, but they also look like ass.

As for my R3 Touring, I don't want run it without a screen. It looks hideous without it on the front.

My 06 Classic looks better without the screen IMO so today I took it for a good run up Saddleback Mountain, Macquarie Pass and back down to Kiama via Jamberoo (NSW Sth Coast for those unaware of the area). Did a small freeway run as well to see what it was like screen-less.

Rider buffeting.....Goooooone.

Ok so the breeze was hitting me on the chest and at times I felt like a sail but thats what riding a bike is all about. Today I really enjoyed my ride since getting it a few weeks ago.

I may consider a small screen to divert the wind off my chest. Can anyone report any issues with these if any?

The fly screen does that well, and is what I normally use. However, in winter, or for longer rides (over 400 miles of Interstate in a day) I will use a bigger screen.
