Output bearing

I wonder if this upgrade kit would have prevented my rear tire lockup. THAT NEARLY KILLED ME!

Your dealer is F O S. The part number is available if they look it up. List price s $209.
Part number T1000008 and T100009 depending on engine color.

Hmm... looks like my first attempt to do business with my local dealer is not proving to promising of what I can expect there. Here's an email response I just got from them:

"I looked up the part # 1000009, and it comes up in my system.But..its not available from triumph anymore as a kit. I did find a dealer in Missouri that has one. Would you like me to see if they are willing to sell the kit to us? Also when checking your vin, i see there is an open service bulletin #386 idle quality."

If you or Pedro don't mind giving me the name of the dealer where you ordered I'll call them and see if they can have it shipped to me. I'd rather deal with somebody who knows what they're talking about. I'm still going to tell my dealer to proceed though and see what kind of price they give me.

I saw your post about that while doing a search here for the kit. Glad you're still with us man! I mainly wanted the kit now to do the cam chain lower sproket and guides when I do my clutch real soon. I was going to just hold on to the tranny stuff and bearings for future use but after reading your post and that thread I pretty much decided to do the output bearing as soon as possible too since warp9.9 says it can be done without pulling the engine.

Thanks. After emailing my local dealer back with what you guys were saying he called me a couple hours ago and apologized that he wasn't looking at the system right, that he can get me one for $209 and can take 10% off that which will only cover my sales tax. That's encouraging but I will still call Kenny tomorrow and see what price he's got. I'm guessing with shipping it'll be about the same or a little more. BTW he said there were only 8 in the country.

FYI: Most dealers don't know anything about this kit. I had to educate mine about it. Get it from your local guy. You may need him when the time comes.

Sounds to me that although your dealer may not know all the answers he seems prepared to follow up and seems to be offering pretty good service actually. Unless he's been directly involved in getting one of these kits before he really has to rely on what he's told. At the end of the day it's probably in your interests to work with your local guy, even if it means not saving a few bucks. Just sayin.

Sounds to me that although your dealer may not know all the answers he seems prepared to follow up and seems to be offering pretty good service actually. Unless he's been directly involved in getting one of these kits before he really has to rely on what he's told. At the end of the day it's probably in your interests to work with your local guy, even if it means not saving a few bucks. Just sayin.
