Oil sump leaking??

I never knew the Rock had an oil pan. Its a sump cover plate and it's gasketed. Oil pans are for wet sumped engines and made of stamped steel or structural fiber. Your Rock is a scavenged sump (dry) engine much like the Meriden bikes were.

Sounds like another case of good Hinkley QC.

It should. The gasket will crush a bit. if the leak persists, it's not hard to remove the entire sump plate and re-gasket it.

Ya reall think they look like Hardly's? In my mind they look more like VTX's with a funny motor.

It's worth going over all the bolts you can find & checking for tightness.

If you take off the radiator shrouds, you might even find some missing, as I did, them having shaken right out. I tighten everything I can find with threadlock now.

No it's an 05, the slower graphite color. Hopefully, just torquing the bolts up is all it's going to take. I'm taking it to a Victory dealer next week to put on a new rear tire. They'd just have a hoot if it was leaking oil I bet.

Just tell them it had an HD for lunch on the way over, hence the oil (burp). 8)

did the same thing as Owl, when i got here i undid everything , applied loctite or copper grease and tightened it all up, im English, i am genetically preprogrammed to build stuff that has character , loose and rattly :lol: :wink: no really , jap bikes roll out with no grease on the steering head bearing , or suspension bushes , i did it myself as its a good way of finding your way around a machine and i just wanted to make sure

thanks for the quick replies. You can even buy the gasket on Bike Bandit for $15.00 plus shipping.

Watch out with Bike bandit. They haven't kept up with vin or engine number breaks for changes in parts. I've had customere bring in parts they saved money on, only to be a wrong part for their bike.

There is an engine number break for the actual sump, but in this case the gaskets are all the same.
