This past Saturday, I decided to be a little obnoxious. Was at a rally/car show, it was hot, the Rocket was hot from traffic, and I did a couple of little burnouts. Then immediately parked her. I could tell that the clutch was hot (lever was soft).

I came back, a few hours later to find an oil puddle!?!?!???? It was large, but likely no more than a cup of clean fresh oil. So, after looking things over, I started her up. No drips, lights or funny noises, so I rode her the 25 miles home. Next morning no drips, maybe 100 or so miles since and no issues.

Any idea what this is? Should I freak out? The drip seemed to originate from the vent tubes at the front of the swing arm. She has another year of warrantee, but, still. The bike has a little over 25k miles.

Any thoughts?

The vent tubes in front of the swing arm are fuelTank (Two of them) and radiator overflow. Unless they changed the configuration on the roadsters. the oil/crank case breather vents into the air filter box unless you went with triple filters. I would look her over agina and check inside the filter box. It might be someone is screwing with you and laid soem oil down because he was jealous of the monster you have.

Lol! You could be right. Thanks Warp! I will check the filter box, just to be sure.

more than likely you already did but is it low on oil,or other fluids?i have done that couple times park on puddle that's already there come back freak out check bike out and conclude it was there first

Nope, not low on any fluids.

A few years ago I parked my America with a few other bikes. One of the fellows poured Coke under it. It looked just like oil. The fellows had a good laugh watching me give the bike a quick check.

We all had a good laugh when I told them it can't be oil, it isn't a Harley!

My old VN2000 gave me a shock a few years ago, on a very hot day, right after a fast highway ride.

I stopped at the lights and everything was full of smoke immediately. I looked down, and the side of the bike was covered with oil, and actually my jeans and boots were a complete mess as well. Oil was dripping onto the exhaust, creating heavy smoke, and I was pretty much resembling the Ghost Rider movie. All the cagers around looking at me like an alien species.

Turned out it was just half a liter (!) too much oil in the tank after engine service... she spit it out through the airfilter, not a problem at all.
I washed her and that was it.
