oil leak

put my bike in the shop for an oil leak in rubber boot between final drive and torsion dampner 31/2 weeks ago , tech said it was the final drive that was bad. orderd it and it came in damaged sent it back and now its on back order, may be in on tuesday . sound like they are having problems with final drives. my problem is I have a trip planned to the smokey mountains of tennesse on october 2nd i just hope i get my bike by then , anyone else having problems with final drives leaking oil at the boot?

is it possible that a bad final drive can leak oil uphill to the boot?

the boot , the rubber thing of which i speak of is uphill from the final drive , is it possible that oil is traveling uphill , or are they saying that the final drive is knocking out the seal in the torsion dampner housing. getting info from dealership is like pulling teeth. if it cant travel uphill then they need to replace both final drive and seal in the tosion dampner housing , am i correct or are you gonna give me annother smartass remark. as far as search goes , i have tried that i must be ****ing stupid cause i type in final drve and get anywhere from tire problems to to grip problems so please enlightin me on how to use search.
