I went to look at my filter and I got pissed they never gave me a chrome one then I thought I don't need a chrome one because my spoiler covers it, I saved money

The typical Triumph filter is black, there is a chrome cover that slips over the filter to protect it and add bling. They take alot of abuse and start looking shabby after a few years, but if you already have it covered with something else .....

Oh So when I thake this filter off the chrome cover will come off I thought it was all in one . My chrome cover looks new I guess its because it was covered my the spoiler.
Oh well don't really need the chrome cover no one see's it any how.

Just pull the chrome cover straight off (no twisting needed). Make sure the new filter doesn't interfere with your lower spoiler.

Thanks, no there is lots of clearance with the oil filter and my spoiler ,
That I can say I made my spoiler perfect I just wish I new how too duplicate them so I could sell them cheap or at a fair price that people can afford. But right now I'm not good enough in fibergalss or metal and the people I did bring them to was way too expensive and no one would of bought them. One day though , just no time right now.

Your scaring me. Which of the 2 Triumph dealers in Salt Lake want to charge you $235 for an oil change?
Actually both dealers are owned by the same "parent" but one has a better reputation than the other.
I will have to use one of those one day...

Smokit2, the one in Salt Lake I used they are all nice people its just that they were forced to sell Triumphs oil and with mark - up was $135. but when I went back to buy a oil filter they did say that if I bring my own oil in they will put it in for me I said to them if they would of told me that when my bike was in I would of done it.
But I wanted to try my self and with all your guys help I did it and Lester that even talked to me on the phone and sent me picture that was cool
The other dealership in Sandy they are all snobs.

Did I put to much oil in? I put 6 quarts in after I let it drain forever.. Waited for everything to stop dripping every last drop. Now it looks high on the dip stick.... Do you check with the bike hot and upright??? or on sidestand? Should I remove some oil??? When I put 5 quarts in it didn't even show up on the stick.... Now I think I might have to much... Will this cause and issue? Do I drain out a little?

Yes, suck half a quart back out!!!!!! Over filling an R3 will blow oil out of the valve cover.

The bike holds 5.5 quarts and the tank will only hold so much, if you overfill it the oil has no place to go and will blow out of the engine. That is why it is so important to not check the level and add oil after the bike sits awhile. The oil could have leaked back into the case and not really be low at all. An accurate level can only be checked after its had a chance to run awhile and scavenge all the oil it can from the sump.
