Guess I will be taking out some oil tomorrow.

An easy way to remove some oil from the tank is to use a battery fluid level adjuster, .... it's just a bulb like a turkey baster. They are a couple bucks in the battery isle at the auto parts store. Very handy to have around for things like this.

I took my oil filter off only lost a little oil, so there was no need to put any more in.
Changing the oil was so easy that a cave man could do it

Checked my oil level and its perfect. Read the book and it says 1.4x gallons oil change or 1.53 gallons if totally dry. I let mine drain for like 30+ mins so I think I might have drain almost if not all the oil out. But went and check the oil and the level is dead on. I did spill a bit when filling too so more than likely only got 5.75 quarts in... Funny thing is my dealer sold me 7 quarts to do the oil change... LOL

How much did your dealer charge you for the oil? Did they say you need to buy Triumphs oil ? I put in 6 quarts in had about half left.

Charged me for 7... I have an extra quart sitting in the garage which is ok by me if I need to top the bike off I got some extra or when I do the next oil change I buy one less.. But the bike is right were its suppose to be and it took just under 6 quarts... I spilled a little and couldn't manage to empty every single quart... So I figure about 5.75 or there abouts.

Hi everyone

New here moved from VA in the states to BC in canada and of course I shipped my 2005 rocket 3 and it arrived with out a ding or scratch! any way ill be changing in oil also was wondering about the size of the crush washers for my bike? and are they the same size for all 3 plugs?

20 dollars a gallon for Rotella t6 5w-40 synthetic at walmart, you can get the filter there too for about 3 bucks.....Supertech ST 7317. Its good to change out the crush washers but not mandatory. I have never changed mine and no leaks so far on my 05, but I will replace them at the next oil change.

They aren't really "crush" washers, just aluminum.

Use teflon tape on the plug threads and reuse the old ones.

Yes thanks to you that's what I did and it worked no leak
The washers cost me like $13.00 3 alluminum washers and on little rubber and two alluminum washers are the same size and the one for the bottle is a little bigger but not much.
I wounder if I can get away again with the tape next oil change
