Every time i ask for washers the dealer puts them in a little enveolpe, when i get home i find out they gave me the wrong ones. This has happened to me twice the second time i was wise to it. My 2 cents take the old ones in to make sure your getting the right washers..
I also always check what the dealership gives me in the little envelope. The Window lickers at my "local" southeast Wisconsin shop are totally clueless to RIII mechanics. This was confirmed again yesterday with my shopping for tyres yesterday. I think its funny when a tyre size that has not changed since 2005 is not stocked.....nor are they aware of what size is even on the beast....Done rambling..... Always check..
Clueless isn't the word more like dumb founded. My dealer closed down due to the death of the owner who ran the place. The son doesn't have the interest to carry on. I had to investigate over twenty shops before i found a shop that would work on the Rocket III, most of the responces were a Rocket III ???or we don't work on metric bikes. I went to an old car night show in town and meet an old British bike restorer
who noticed the Triumph emblem on the tank and thought it was a Harley, he turned me on to some great machanics and sources for tires and parts.Even they were skeptable when i rolled in,but bringing the service manual helped I do the basics oil, filter, plugs but don't have the time or set up for major repairs. Owning a Rocket is a real joy but finding the dealer thats competent is a challenge If it wasn't for this forum i'd be in deep shyt..
I'm lucky enough to have a very good Triumph dealer here in Columbus. They actually had the rear tyre in stock. Got my TPS in a quick order. Someimes we both get frustrated with Triumph.
I second that Triiick, I would be in deep shyt too if it wasn't for this forum.
A big thanks to all the members that have helped me out over the past 2 years.
