Seen a few that feature Ohlins shocks but no answer as to which model #, etc. Naturally, Ohlins heavily caters to HD (among many other bike nameplates) and offers many selections, including the new HD 022 model for FLH model bikes. NOTHING directly for the rocket. Bummer, but I'm sure some of these MANY HD models should be applicable to the R3. Please advise. THX.

If not Ohlins, then what rear shock is the penultimate suspension for our beasts???

Wilbers, or YSS, a Wilbers knockoff.
Both can be had with or without the external reservoir for full adjustability.

Others will argue for Hagons.

I'm running Ohlins and I am very impressed with them. There is a guy over here (the agent) who builds them for the Rocket (and any other bike) I'm sure any Ohlins tech guy could do the same, anywhere in the world.

What model # Ohlins are you running? I need heavy duty as I'm usually close to 300 pounds. Any specifics would be very helpful, thanks in advance.

If you want Ohlins shocks, give Dan Kyle a call. He is the largest distributor of Ohlins in the USA, and very very knowledgeable.
I am an Ohlins dealer, and I can't beat Dan's pricing.

Other very good options include Penske, and Bitubo which can be had from Traxxion Dynamics.

I will warn you that as soon as you get a really good set of shocks on the rear of a R3, you will find just how bad the forks are, and will start looking for a real cartridge assembly.

I'm already running extra heavy duty Race Tech springs up front. THX for the additional leads.

Contacted Dan and at first he drew a blank on Rocket 3 applications. Then, after discussion, he has provided me with a list of parameters to measure. That submitted he can then devise something for the R3. I really like the Penske's as well. Very smartly designed.
