Now owing Rocket 3, how do you tolerate other bikes? What would your next bike be?

Well, we have a huge coastline with beautiful vistas of the ocean. Florida has its moments.

PS: We probably have the smoothest roads of any state, even local roads. Wide lanes too. It is a pleasure to ride.
Plus, if you do get bored, Florida is attached to a vast country the size of Australia. You can always fill up with gas and just keep going. And going. And going... We fall into the sea after a couple of hours if we do that here.

Agree on the smooth roads, I see them repaving perfectly good roads and am dumbfounded, coming from the pothole capital of the world, Buffalo, NY. The road to Steinhatchee, from upper left, where I am, to lower right, is beautiful riding, big sweepers, mostly wildlife refuge, more curvy than the map would suggest. And law enforcement is pretty lax on speed limit enforcement. I almost accidentally passed a cop on that road at 120+, he blipped his lights and siren once to let me know that would be a bad idea. 17 miles, I once made in in 8 1/2 minutes.

Yes, it is a benefit. Frankly, not for me personally. My job sadly does not result in long vacations. A few days here and there is all I can score. Nothing long enough to mount "escape from Florida" ride, sadly. I have not even been in all the Florida, as yet. Mostly I ride after work and on weekends, if it doesn't rain.

For me to leave Florida, it is about 7 hours of riding + stopping to get gas and get awoken anew. So, to leave and get back, that is 2 days waisted already. Yeah, when I get a 3-day weekend, I could go, but then I'd come all tired, a new week ahead. That is why I kinda give the rest a preference and just go do a local drive.

That "tail of the dragon" is on my list. It is a famous road with tons of twisties and turns. Still waiting for an opportunity.

Poor roads, yeah I can relate. It's funny, when I'm driving my car around my local open road environment I find myself thinking about road positioning for upcoming corners and road surface issues etc ,as if I was on the bike. I'm like, move right for the start of this bridge because there's a big bump in the centre of the road, won't matter in the slightest to a 4 wheeler, but my brain is still on bike mode, prob wishing I was on the bike.
