It's a ZZR1200. (think retooled ZX11 for comfort, slightly more torque and about a wash HP wise)

It's not nearly as raucous as the Rocket III. The Rocket is visceral. This is a poor man's FJR1300 which I've also owned. I like it better than the FJR in many respects. It was half the price, has a 6th gear, is moderately faster and nets better mileage per tank.

Aw britman... I know you miss riding this.....

what's funny is that he's probably got me by 5 inches in height and 3 inches on inseam. Even HE had a tough time with the seat height (37 inches) heh

I actually road tasker's gap with it. once. Never again.

as for the look of the bags....they are ok. I don't think they are great looking. They are pretty much water tight and fit my laptop and lunch much better than the often leaky soft bags I had. So, for what i paid for them ($300 vs. the $1700 new) I can't complain. I got a russell day long seat for my troubles too!

What is it, a Concours? If so, they're terrific bikes. I was going to look at one but the ****ty dealer didn't have any.

I test rode a Kawasaki Concours when I was also looking at Rocket 3's. I was shopping to add another fast bike that's comfortable. The Concours was neither, at least until you got it's engine screaming. The Kawasaki may be just the ticket if you're more into sport bikes but a cruiser it's not. In my opinion, the R3 is a much more fun machine to ride. I've owned my R3 for a little over 3 months now and ridden it 3,600 miles. It's still my current favorite. The torque is great! :D
