2006 Rocket III Classic
Hello all, I know it's been awhile, but here I am again. My friend, Ian (an actual Brit), and I both have the same bike, same color, painted by the same guy (Mat), by pure coincidence. Our bikes are how we became friends, actually. 06 Classics.

We did the wireless relay ignition bypass for him a couple years ago, but now his bike is completely dead. No lights or sounds, other than the wireless relay click. We swapped all of the relays off my bike, which is running fine, with no change. I've checked all of the connections at the harness and changed a couple, but still no joy. 13.6VDC. The only thing I haven't done for him yet is take the kill switch apart, because I though if that was the problem I would still at least get headlights when the ignition relay is activated, but there is nothing. This isn't the "need a better ground" starter bendix click. This is nothing whatsoever.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

And how's this for a twist? I have 13.4 VDC across the leads FROM the wire harness that go to the wireless ignition relay. I only discovered this because I was double-checking the connectors that would normally send the power from the relay TO the wire harness. I wasn't careful with the harness side of the wires because I didn't expect them to be energized. They touched for a moment and that's when I realized.

Okay, maybe that's not as weird as I thought it was. I checked my bike and it does the same thing. So the wireless relay closing is what sends power to everything else from the white-blue wire, correct? Even though the wireless relay passes voltage from the battery when you turn it on? The only thing I can think of that would keep EVERYTHING on the bike from working is the main ground. Thoughts?

does the green nuetral light come on ?
does the gauges make the sweep?
does the warning lights come on for a couple seconds. gas lite, oil lite, ect ?
are you pulling in clutch lever?
press and hold the starter button while slowly letting out clutch lever.

are you pulling in clutch lever? Yes, but I haven't until after activating the wireless ignition relay.

I will try the starter button and clutch lever combo and let you know what happens. Thanks, Turbo!

Which "relay bypass" did you use? An aftermarket one or and for if DIY mod setup?
Is the original harness to the ignition switch still intact?

I would pull that relay that is clicking and replace it.
Show pictures of the relay and connector and i will tell you how to bypass for testing purposes.

I apologize for the delayed response. I've dealt with a hospital stay and several other interfering events. Fortunately, Ian is patient and values my help. When I saw the lithium battery's positive terminal like this, I thought there might be a high-open situation that would show the voltage, but not allow current. I brought the brand new AGM battery from my own R3 to test, but got exactly the same results. Interestingly, when I short the two leads from the wire harness (W/Blue with 13VDC on it shorted to Blue/Y and everything else), the aftermarket LED headlights will come on, but nothing else happens. I was so sure the battery would turn out to be the culprit.

That would be amazing, Turbo! Yes, it is in CG and I would be extremely grateful for your assistance!
