No oil in tank?

im thinking older bikes the anti drain valve is not doing well. I noticed mine change from several days to next morning tank empty, all that oil in the crank cant be good.

I think the oil is draining into the gearbox and is not actually in the crankcase being whipped up by the crankshaft. The crankshaft is higher than the sump. It's not foamining the oil and it appears not to cause harm or any back pressure.
Most of these bikes are draining down from what I hear and read.

does your oil tank stay full after sitting?

Mine pretty much stays full, replaced the valve, o-ring and spring when had engine apart.

I too have replaced all.

Make sure o-ring is straight and lubed before installing. Like the idea of new spring, low cost item.

Went back and checked parts drawing, I was wrong, looks like no o-ring required. Sorry

So did I but mine still drains down. I wish I knew why.

I too have replaced all.

I replaced spring, valve and o ring and lubed it all with oil before installation but it still drains down the same as before. It must be finding another way to drain down.
Any ideas?

Nope, i dont think it should leak without engine running and pressure pump calling for oil to spray. Im trying to learn it.

Maybe it's draining down through the oil pump. It is a slow drain down, just like a steady drip.
