I am new to the community. Been riding now since 2009. Bought my first bike in El Paso when I got back from a long tour and needed a way to deal with it. My Honda 1300 VTX had 1200 miles on it, loud Sampson pipes, and it loved to haul ass. Really enjoyed that bike and rode it till March 2016, when I found my Rocket in Charlotte, NC. I fell in love with this monstrous beast. I am 5ft 10in and 175. Most folks were shocked I could ride it. The bike is quiet but hard not to notice. I have since added daymakers to it. I am thankful to live in an area that has a really long riding season.
 
Welcome aboard brother and thank you for your service. Look for the RAA 12 thread as it appears this years get together will be close to your house.

Welcome Catador! Completely agree with you on the noise level. I am buying a set of TORs which is a bit of a step up. By the way, my brother lives about an hour away from you in Sumter. Perhaps I will bump into you next time I go visit him.
