I get it now, 2 threads, i responded to other, and clarified, the g853 and g852 are the performance tires in the exdra line, exedra max is for touring, not hooning, according to the maker.

are they much better than the cobra's, or similar considering they are new?
moreover, do they turn in quicker than the cobra's. especially the feel from the rear?
are you running the same pressures?
I've just bought a rocket with Avon Cobras & found rear wheel wheel seems to slide when leaning into a corner & contact patch hits the cobra/wrinkle pattern not sure who thought this was a good idea rather than it being smooth? Anyone else experienced this?
My cobra pattern & most of the 'snake skin pattern' have gone, tire runs fine & holds very well leaned over. Have you got the TC turned off? What mode are you riding in?

No I did not experience slides on the Avons. maybe reduce your rear tire pressure a bit. the rear heat up very, very quickly and will push the pressures up encouraging sliding. Triumph TC is also very good so it could be that too, how hard do you come out of corners?

Minimal throttle but carrying a bit of speed, tyres have just been replaced by the previous owner, maybe I still need to scub them in? I will also experiment with tyre pressures.

Definitely need a bit of wear. New/waxy tires are slick & scary. Cobras are a really good tire but nothing is going to keep a Rocket with tc off from spinning if you want it to.
