I recently fabricated a forward facing forced air filter box for the side of the r3.
I got the bike used and the previous owner had his own target afr/tune going on that worked just fine until after the install. His tune was from 13.0-13.7 with various rpms obviously.
Test rode it today without changing any of his tune. I feel that I did not gain any more power. Exhaust got louder when revving the engine in neutral, finally has enough air to get through the engine and out the Jadines. While riding, I feel the headers, engine, and exhaust were A LOT hotter than normal. The radiator fan was running most the time, compared to before the thing was never on.
I have the LCD200 so I could get instant feedback while riding. The AFR was at ~12.5 on screen (even though autotune was set to ~13.5) and the fuel injection couldn't make up its mind if it was -6 or +6. Check the PCV program on the laptop once I got home, pretty much negative (-20) numbers across the board under the autotune tab. Under the Fuel tab, numbers were high?? (+20-+16).

I'm new to the forum but pumped to share how I fabricated the air box. Turned out so ugly it looks good. saved all of my measurements, templates, and mock pieces.

But right now I am in need of a tune!!! Could someone please send me a good starting tune for such a setup? Not sure what firmware I have installed on the PCV either.

Also, after every ride should I hookup to the laptop and accept the autone trim's? Will that eventually create a custom tune?

I am sure our in house tune expert HAnso will be along shortly to help you out , now how about posting some pictures your write up sounds very intriguing to say the least also are you planning to go with a more free flowing exhaust ?

For now I'm going to stick with the Jardine exhaust.
I'm a sheet metal worker, so if I ever do go with a more free flowing exhaust I will probally end up making it myself. My coworker is a top notch welder and track car junky. He's already recommending me getting Columbia River Mandral bend fittings for an exhaust build.

send me your Email address in a Conversation and I will send you a replacement tune for your ECU and my AFR table map
