Need a part identified

That mechanic should just hook up TuneECU and look up the temperature of the engine and see when the fan kicks in etc, I would say if it has been running well previously you might need to run some injector clean, check spark plugs and low tension coil leads.

That should work. Is this a new problem or still "tuning in" the Carpenter upgrade ?

It did this when Carpenter first tuned the bike. Bob had me take fuel out of the lower rpm and 0-5% throttle range, and it quit.
Yesterday as this guy tuned I saw him working on the same area and get it straightened up. Then once the bike completely cooled and was started ,the problem came back. It stumbles just off idle like it has too much fuel.

I hope all is good and you get it worked out bro. I hope the weather clears up down there. I think you've had more than your fair share.

Monitor the manifold pressure while you slowly increase throttle opening. Does it drop or remain fairly constant? What does the ECU display for ambient air temperature? Does it match what your own thermometer says the temp is? (Tip here: the air temp sensor and coolant temp should match within 2 deg F when the bike is cold.) Monitor the actual injection times for all three cylinders while at idle and as you open the throttle . Does the time vary as a group and increase steadily if you slowly open the throttle or does the group jump up or down? Does one injector time vary greatly from the others? Can you smell the exhaust when this happens? Generally a stumble caused by a rich condition is obvious to your nose.

These results can indicate if the temp sensor is bad; if the MAP sensor or lines are at fault, if the TPS is failing (and the just off idle position is very sensitive and if the TPS is a little off it makes a big change); or if the problem lies elsewhere such as a dirty or faulty injector.

My computer crashed a few weeks ago, and I'm using a borrowed one. I've loaded TuneECU, but my cable doesn't want to connect. So I haven't been able to run diagnostics. I'll try to reload the cable.

Thanks Blaine

Balanced the throttle bodies. There was a difference of 80 between 1 and 3.

Reset adaptives

Injector pulse seems to climb and drop as a group.

Temp and water temp looked ok

Slowly opening the throttle will cause the manifold pressure to jump up, then go down.

When it stumbles there is a slightly rich smell, but not bad.

It is a little smoother since balancing the throttle bodies. But still not right.
