My Rocket is missing....

kind of a misleading title. I ride a 2008 Rocket 3 Touring. Best bike I've had the pleasure of owning or riding. I bought it with 4,500 miles and without a scratch. I've added 17,000 fun miles. Lately the bike has developed a miss on low speed cruising. 35 to 50 mph in 4th or 5th gear. All I have to do is goose it, and the engine smoothes out. I tried an aftermarket single exaust. After a few hundred miles I switched back to my original TORS mufflers. The engine issues seemed to start with the muffler change. One last tid bit, I had a broken detent spring about 5,000 miles ago. New k/n air filter also. Any ideas will be helpful. It seems that a dyno is my next option. ???

Sorry for omitting that. Yes Han's sent me a tune to use. It did improve the miss, but not completely.

When you did the tune did you reset the adapters after you did the tune

Maybe it needs the TPS reset? 35 mph in fourth gear must be barely off idle.

You could also check and recrimp the low tension terminals on the coils

I had Grand Rapids Triumph (Fox Power Sports) install the program. The tech who did the program is a known mechanic with good reviews. His background is Triumph shops. I wish that I knew more other than just he "installed the program". I will take these questions and thoughts to the mechanic, ( Scott ), and find out what exactly was done.

Reminds me a bit of the commercial airline pilot who noted on his post-flight report "Left hand engine missing."

I changed plugs over the winter. Less 500 miles ago.
