My quest for the perfect seat

Pegasus, YEah that's what I was affraid.... I got a corbin dual on order and already have Rivco risers, but if it pushes me back even further it might be a problem.

Are the classic bars much different?

Mtcm, I have a 34/35" sleeve and the Classic bars are swept back enough that I no longer get stiff or tight across the top of my shoulders/back from being nearly straight armed while riding.

I have the Russell seats, had them about one year. Took bike across US with Russell, wife loves the rear seat. I would not say the best looking seat but very confortable. Will try to dig up picture.

How can the corbin push you back when the dimensions are the same as the classic seat? I'm looking for a seat that sits me back further - I guess I'll have to head down to the corbin showroom and see if they have one I can try out.

Got the Heated Corbin Dual tour in the mail yesterday... Was thrilled at first, not so thrilled anymore.

1st_ Can't get the brackets to line up, I pushed so hard I pushed the bike off it's stand.
After loosing the bracket, brackets on the seat, trimmed some excess leather that was rubbing and with the help of someone else I managed to get one screw in. The right side is still 1/4" too far back and too high.

The seat is not centered with the fender, the right side of the seat sits against the chrome fender thingy (right behind the shock mount)

The 4 back rubber bumpers are 3/4 off the fender.

I had enough wire to power the seat on the bike next to me; had to cut/splice it.

The Accessory Fuse they want you tu use it not switched (not on my bike anyway) so don't forget the seat turned on and wish that no kid will flip that switch; it will drain your battery in no time. Now that's dumb! I'll try to see what circuit I can use.

The front "latch" hooks to the fuel tank instead of the frame bracket; after install/remove many times I got quite a bit of paint gone. They should have put a rubberized compound on that lip.

The seat squeaks on the front left, but it may be caused by the seat not sitting where it belongs.

As for needing tools to get to the toolbox, I was thinking to hide an allen key in the holes for the rear backrest since I won't be using it. Anyone thought of that?

Besides that, it seems that it will be comfortable....

Not impressed at all with Corbin!

BTW which side of the toggle seat is HIGH and LO?

Lastly, if you ever install one of these, keep in mind that this FUSE adaptor needs 2 fuses. They are no clear about this. One acts like the original fuse for the wiring on the motorcycle; the other one is for the seat.

Thats why I'm going to take advantage of my proximity to their florida showroom and try one out before I buy it.

Maybe some admin could put this as a sticky or something, but I thought this might be useful:

Allright, finally got it to work (0.5 + 2.5 + 1 + 0.7 hours later!). In case this happens to someone else, here are the necessary steps I had to do to make this seat fit:

NOTE: The 4 rear rubber bumpers at the passenger end still don’t touch the fender with no load. With a passenger 4 of them make contact and the 2 rear ones are about ¼â€Â

Forgot to mention, this was the CORBIN HEATED DUAL TOUR SEAT.

Anyone know which side the switch is HIGH/LOW?

Anyone know how to wire this thing so that it's switched with the key?
