I swear these bikes are like crack cocaine. Dennis Leary once joked that only in America would there be somebody for whom coke wasn't enough and that they really wanted something to blow your head off.

I've done all of 100k on my R3 but, Christ, it pulls... Can't imagine what some of your modded bikes go like. :D

Glad your happy.. pitty about the oil leak in the first few hours but easily fixed..

When I first got mine 3yrs ago I said the same.. bloody monster of a thing but then it seemed slower.. fitted the GPI-atre and wow fast again for a few months, then it all started, pipes, triples, tune map, power commander..
Well I can say the bikes power is reasonable now and the local bikies don't wanna race anymore they pull along side and nod or say g'day and we all take off in a sorta civilized manner.. well sort of  :D

Like someone said.. it's like making freinds with a Big Gorilla.. but, just never take your eyes off it..

Sounds like you enjoyed your ride mate as we knew you would . I had a small leak in my bike nothing a couple of scanners could not fix .triumphs of the 50's and 60's if there wasn't oil under them it normally meant you'd run out of oil . I had a permanent drip tray parked under My bike in the garage .

My '78 750 Bonnie never leaked a single drop of oil ... cause i sweated like a pig in Allan Chances lean-to and lapped the crankcases and covers. Chancey wouldn't rebuild your motor if you weren't prepared to put your bit of effort into it . That Bonnie went like ********pers ;)

Just out of interest what do they sting you for a new R3R in NZ ???

Well, there are deals to be had that's for sure. The full price is $26,990 + on road costs ($650) but nobody pays that.

Used to visit Australia and be pissed-off at how cheap the bikes were. My HD Road King was over NZ $34,000 but was only around AUS $29,000. At the same time my job paid more in Aus than NZ. Simplistic view maybe but it just seemed a better deal.

I think you've got it pretty sweet over there. My wife's got Kiwi mates in Queensland (more of them since the quake) and they keep encouraging her to make the move. Better riding weather too.

Bruce that's a large reduction Did yours come with wind screens ,saddle bags ,engine bars ,etc as these new bikes come out with no extras at all.

Mine was $23000 + on road and predelivery charge that brought it up to $24990. I put on my sad face wich is alot like my pleased to see you face that looks like my piss off idiot face and got them down to $24500. That was as far as they would go dollar wise so I started twisting their arm for extra's. Got the small screen and mounting brackets out of them' they said it was worth $495. I replied thats what you sell them for not what there worth and not what they cost you.
