my key wont open my gas cap

ok Fellas, I got it open , soaking it with a light oil and working it back and forth with key in lock holding pressure down on key and grabbing key with pliers working back and forth careful not to twist key, now im looking for a non locking gas cap that will fit the r3 classic

I'm glad it worked out okay and you didn't have to destroy the lock. There are a number of alternate gas caps available - many on fleabay. From memory, the Sprint one fits and they were listed for the Sprint when I bought mine a few years back. It has to be a 6 bolt model.

If it were mine, I'd take it apart, clean everything up good, dry out, lube everything with graphite, reassemble, and move on.

Oh yeah; and apply a little graphite from time to time in the future.

I've used a lot of products threw the years and out of them all Tri-Flow is by far the best if you can find it. I have a friend that owns a bike shop as in (bicycle shop) that uses it on all his bikes. He can't keep it in stock.
