My attempt to make the GT an actual GT

I’ve been perfectly happy with my GT for the most part but I have an Indian for long distance riding. The only main thing I changed was to get rid of the bar end mirrors because as much as I like the look it was hell filtering through traffic and I hit car mirrors on least two occasions and had enough of that.

I too have bagger Indians to ride and the carrying capacity is great. Many times I’ll leave house with a jacket or leather shirt but I need to take it off for comfort later in the ride. It’s great just store it in a saddle bag. Most of the time I can use a bag on the wife’s bike. If I need a day of big power all the bikes with the extra plastic need to stay home.

I rode 900mi one way up to Seattle and back with no windscreen, just naked Rocket, and had no comfort issues other than not putting enough layers on in the Mt Shasta morning cool. I have discovered the "Wind Shirt" which is thin, blocks all wind that seeps through my jacket zippers, about $20 on Amazon and worth every penny. Along with my heated Gerbing gear I'm comfy even in the 30s.

What I used for touring for a few years...
