Yes.. Triumph called them 2005 models, but July 2004?.. I wish there was a standard.. such as.. if it's manufactured after September, you can call it by the next year. That's kind of the way it used to be, but then manufacturers started trying to leap frog each other.

There are a few minor changes occured in '05 as well. The earlier motors have oil drain plugs in different locations than what the manual says, the oil tanks are not the same. Also the water pump does not have a drain plug to drain the coolant as shown in the manual.

Are you sure it will be 9? I could have sworn the first US bikes started with 2005 model?

Yeh, I was thinking the earliest you could have gotten it was the fall. I didn't realize they came out that early. Bear bought his in January 2005 and mine was September 2005.

You might run across mine sometime. My dealer told me the name of the town that its new captain was from, but I can remember right now is it was somewhere south of San Antonio. I had not heard of the town before. Figured we might run across it at Luchenbach or Albert sometime. Although, a big part of me hopes I don't. I really loved that bike and there wasn't a darn thing wrong with it other than I put on too much weight and my legs grew shorter. But at least with what I have now Bear won't worry about me when I take trips by myself.

Wish I could, but the integration isn't actively developed for the particular forum software this site is currently running on. Triumph Motorcycle Forums is still in development, but it runs on something completely different.

Well dang !

Not to set any expectations, but the time will eventually come where I will have to make a technology migration on this site. The software that TMF runs on is one if the possibilities.
