Maintenance Expense..Big bucks!

You got that right, Scott and to make matters worse they had three attempts (supposedly) to put the timing right. They lied to me, wasted my time (collectively, they had the bike for well over a month) and attempted to rip me off. It will be interesting to hear what Triumph USA will have to say about Trebour Motorcycles. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to those assnuts.

Oh yeah... I am a little bit excited to get a much healthier beast back from Carpenter Racing, hopefully, by the end of this week.

:iagree:

I've chewed all of my fingernails off; waiting in anticipation of picking mine up; soon as well.....

Be interesting to see how much it costs me per hour next week.

The place I bought the R3 from was 35Euros/hour - but since they've moved 400 miles away I'v had to look for an alternative.

After taking the tank off last week looking for a fault that turned out to be a loose coil connection, I couldn't believe the amount of stuff under there and am really glad I didn't have to go any further :eek3:, to do a valve clearance check/adjustment you have remove most of it - must be a bloody nightmare.

I bet the techs hate being told their next job is a Rocket that needs the valves looking at - I can see that being expensive wherever its done. :(

I just brought my 07 Classic into my local Triumph dealer for the 10 K mile check and two new stock tires The work included all fluids changed (brakes, coolant and all oils + filter). Four valves were out of spec so the cam had to be accessed.
Washers and seals relaced. The cost, $1,691.04! Am I crazy or is this in line with expectations? Labor was $800.

600 for the job and the rest was paying for the sex they had with you :)

Yeah...I questioned the labor charge and was told, "That's how long it took"
What the f*** do I do with that statement! Rates are $90/hr.
Christ..I should have taken it to Carpenter Racing, spent anther $2700 and had him install his 210 HP kit!
..and yes, they had a kind of sex with me!

I can have both rims off the bike in minutes... the rear tire is a bear to remove, I stopped taking it to a MC shop, i usually hit the local Tire shop and hand em a 20 to pop the old one off and new one on with a car tire machine.

fronts appx 35 bucks at MC shop.

I dont go to a dealer if I can help it.

I will be ordering new tyres next week and just for fun I checked the listed price of a rear Metz from a dealer - only £447 pounds or $711US. Local tyre supplier/fitter quoted £199.

Do you laugh or cry?
