Madstad windscreen 2020-2024 R3GT

I've seen so many different types of screen, none of which appealed to me at all. If you look closely at all of the Tiger range, the screens are in-line with the angle of the front forks. This punches a hole in the air big enough to ride comfortably behind without having to have a large or replacement screen. Like I did on my Roadster I made up some sinple brackets to reposition the screen, I first did mine on my GT and painted them silver to match the bike as closely as possible.

This works perfectly with the standard screen and are barely noticeable. I've also made two more sets for friends with new Storm rockets (in satin Black), they love 'em 👍😎

Well, I wound up buying one. And I can add my experience to this thread. The shield sucked for me. They made it taper down narrow at the front to be the same width as the little fairing/cover bit there. It lets a lot of wind in to hit your body and go up under your chin and in your face. I bought a piece of polycarbonate from home Depot and filled in where I thought the air was coming from, and it made it a lot better. I have a shield coming from Cal Sci now that should be about the same shape as what I wound up with , with my add on piece. Also tall enough to hopefully not need the spoiler on top. I'm taller than most, so I struggle with wind protection, but I think anybody would be unhappy with the win d the polish shield lets in at the bottom. I'm also going to make lower wind deflectors that mount on the forks to see if that helps. This add on piece was only an experiment and not meant to look pretty or be permanent.

Thanks for the info on the windscreen. I'm running the Madstad 24" and it seems to work okay, but I wish it was styled just a little wider. I don't know if you checked out the post on the lowers that I made. Every little bit helps, but I don't want to muck up the appearance of my bike. There is always a trade off...

I think the "muck up the appearance" train has left the station on my bike. ha ha . But it certainly is good at blocking the wind. I can look over it or through it depending on the angle I put it at. I made telescopic supports from carbon fiber tube

Definitely going to get some how did you shorten them, you just cut it and drill a new hole.
I cut off the bar end mount part about 3/4"-1" up from the round part. Then took about an inch off the "arm" part. then chucked a proper size little drum sander in the drill press. About 1 1/2" diameter I think. Sanded a curve to match the radius of the round bar end part so the seam would kind of hide in the curve of the bar end part....I hope you're following, ha ha...Scuffed the gloss on the 3/4" part I left on the round bar end part, and epoxied the two parts together. I also epoxied a piece of aluminum that I drilled and tapped, to the inside of the "arm. And put a screw in to it through the little triangle hole in the mirror stem. To give more support. I wound up epoxying a bent strip of aluminum to the "channel" in the curve of the guard, and about half way out to the end to give it a little more rigidity. They aren't supported at the end like some guards, so they can flop a bit in the wind. I covered the aluminum strip with some thin bendable carbon fiber I had. But I also sprayed the inside with bed liner and sprayed it flat black after it dried. That's the problem with CF parts. They usually aren't finished on one side. I have a headlight mask on my KTM that I did the same to. Just to try to make the inside "go away". ....I'll look for pictures.

Joint where I cut it. Drum I used. Inside of mirror with screw into tapped piece of aluminum. You can see the aluminum peeking out. You can just bedliner the whole inside over the aluminum. I just had the CF so I stuck it on

I appreciate the writeup and pictures. It will come in handy for when I decide to do it, thanks.
