Made a custom shifter peg from aircraft aluminium and anodised it ..... much better length than the factory one... uses factory bolt so I can convert it back to factory if desired in future... whole thing took about an Hour the lathe and an hour to anodise
I don't have my shop tools here down in Florida, last ride on my k1200, I was almost home and went to downshift, and there was nothing there, my shifter peg was gone. I'm thinking about getting home, a dirt road off another dirt road, in 6th gear, but I felt around, and found the lever, it was only the peg. Bought a peg online for $6.99, and they even threw in a brake peg, too
BMW only sells the whole assembly, a bargain at $125.
it stands out.... I can easily buff it back and anodize it any colour I like.... have blue red green black and purple sitting there... could get others.... the yellow gold seemed like the colour you get on some racing parts...
I can remake the part a different size etc.... this is just a prototype first attempt but I like it
