So I decided I needed a luggage rack to go with my solo seat, needed a place for my lunch bag and was tired of strapping it to the rear fender. Couldn't find a whole lot of options out there, so I made one. Went ahead and made it detachable, so I can take it off when I want. Used stainless steel, then spray painted gloss black. Got the steel for free, bought the quick release brackets off eBay. And yes I know my welding skills suck, lol. I did a little welding and a lot of grinding, but it's functional. I bent some round bar and welded it together for the rack, then cut some side plates out of sheet metal. Had to bend and shape them and cut out for mounting locations. Welded the plates to the rack, really struggled there with welding round to flat, and keeping everything in the right spot. So anyway, here's some pics.

Well done and those Chinese aftermarket Harley QR things were a bargain too!

You could have made it easier on yourself modding an aftermarket HD sissybar/rack one but it may not have looked as neat as yours.
