I tried the Rotella T6 full synthetic and found it was ok but didn't last. Motor got rattly and I was on a trip out west. Couldn't wait to get it changed as soon as I got home. 7,322km (4549 miles) at an avg speed of 100 kph two up and loaded. Back to Amsoil and smoother shifting and quieter!

Good to know. How many miles do you think it was good for? I was changing it every 5000 miles on the Harley. I might continue the same practice for this bike since the oil is doing everything in this motor. Except cooling which is nice. I know the oil helps cool but I'm glad that it's not one of it's primary functions in this bike.

I would guess about halfway so approximately 3500 kms or a bit over 2000 miles

Mobil use to be the oil Truimph recommended. Now it is castrol. I use the 4T Mobil 10-40. Have used Mobil in my last three bikes and like it a lot. The big difference between Harley and Truimph is that Truimph gives you the pleasure of draining all the oil out of your engine. Harley has no drain plug for sumps. Unless you pump it out a quart of used oil stays. For the splines I use Loctite LB 8012. For the fluid in the drive shaft I use Royal Purple 75-90. Used Royal Purple in the transmission on the Harley with good results. I use rotella in my tractor good oil but prefer Mobil in the bikes. For the other holes I prefer strawberry flavor.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
