Just went Dark

Nice to have another Darksider join in the fun. I like my 205 60 16 cause it is narrow and just 5mph off of GPS. I suppose I well go taller next time around with a 65. The tire pressure is the key in ride and handling preference. I do 2up a lot and handles better in mid 30's with stock shocks.

I had a Road Glide that went dark at about 5:00 AM one morning on my way to work. There were lights, and then there were none.. riding in traffic, in the dark. That was exciting!

Turned out to be a pinched wire inside the fairing. Easy fix, once I found it, that is.. lol

I just took off my 225/50/16 Rikon Raptor, which was a great tire, and got a new 245/50/16 Bridgestone Potenza Ultimate all season tire. At the same time I swapped all the brake pads on the bike and the sidecar with sintered HH pads and also re-bled the brakes.

I now have absolutely killer traction for both accel and braking. I had been having issues with 225 Raptor breaking loose, despite the weight of the sidecar, under hard accel. This 245 Bridgestone however just grabs hold and hangs on. I love it.

I have not taken it solo just yet, but I expect good things. The 225 was no problem in terms of handling, but with the supercharger, I could light it up in 1st gear just by twisting the throttle. I'm hoping the 245/50/16 will hang on a bit better and also give me better highway cruising RPMs. We'll see.

Now I need to reset my speedo again. I had it dialed in with the 225/50. Hmmm...
