Issue with Progressive 440's

shock blowout on sidestand side

Speedbike,

Forgive me for being so dumb. I just thought what happened to one shock on either side would be duplicated on the other shock. The swing arm swings parallel to the frame, right? So in my dim mind what happens to one shock happens to the other shock equally, (either in angle or compression).

Maybe there are some physics going on that is unseen.

Hey Scott, if they don't buy your bridge, maybe they'll buy mine. lol

Sounds like a crock of **** to me.... many many captains are running 440's nevered heard any one else blow a seal.

Progressive Shocks

Yes I had one blow out as well but I think mine was due to 2up and not changing the settings and having it bottom out over everything of size. They rebuilt it with no hassles and go with stock 2up anymore. Happy Holidays

I put 20 some-odd thousand miles on my Road King (heavier than my R3) with a set of 440HDs on it. No problems whatsoever. That Road King sat waaaaay more over on the side stand than the Rocket. ;)

Hey Speedbike, thanks for passing on the info though. It's good to hear some of this stuff and what some customer service reps will try to say to cover a manf. defect.
