Interesting alternative pipes :)

Tractor headers don't burn legs so much! I prefer to ride for several hundred miles each day for days on end and a roasted leg is no go for me.
Someone needs to start building good practical 3 into 1 systems for these beasts. Losing a few ponies is no biggie to me as I won't miss them in the twisties anyway.
I would hate to burn my legs either but must admit I did once on the predators pipe and well I can see where you could on th eCarpenter pipe although except for my wreck I never did. I still had other heat shield made for the Carpenter pipe as I did not like the set of cobra shield that come with them. The shield worked I just did not like the looks of them. Now on th epredator pipe the shield work great but I did lean against it wrong in a parking lot and melted my gear where their is not shield. It was on the cone expanding from the merge collector to the muffler can. My fault as I never touched that area when on the bike. As for the ones made down under I cannot speak for but I believe the heat shields are extra and do not know how well they are. I suspect like others there are room for improvement.

I must say I never had any heat problems in the twisties on any pipes of course OEM was the best but then I am not the best in twisties. Nor do I claim to be I do my hard running in straight aways and never had a problem with shields there. And as I always say and pretty much make up for how slow I am in the curves between them. As long as there is some straight away I do not care how fast you are in the curves I will hit Warp speed and leave you feeling like you never fired the engine up :D

Good probability the three into two results in torque increase. I sure love the conversion I did to my Jardines. I chopped off the left silencer and plugged the hole in the right one. Ripped off the hot water heaters from the Roadster and replaced them with the altered 3 into 1 Jar. I don't know if it is the Jardine, or the addition of the Dobeck, (probably both) but it sure made it come alive. I feel like that old Evenrude commercial where the guy gets out of his boat with the huge grin on his face (face is frozen from being subjected to the constant G's). Oh yeah, I added the small K&N's too.

i would love to get a 3 into 1 on the roadster more for looks than power , i will be looking for a good slip on can and adapt it to the stock headers i think . I would like a carbon look can and try and match into the chrome heat shields from the stock system. This bike has more than enough power for me so i am happy to use the stock headers.

Greenman, I've seen and heard those pipes and they are "LOUD" with the baffles out, (weren't fitted to mine), very little restriction and as someone said prior, they rob torque. Good fella to deal with as I have dealt with him privately.
