You'd better get back to the dealer on the key thing. I think they are supposed to change the locks on the fuel tank and seat as well - at least that's what my dealer did with my '09. I assumed it was all part of the repair.

Good idea.

I've addressed that to the dealer in writing and should have an answer by tomorrow.

Since I have the Touring, the seat doesn't have a lock; and the fuel cap has its own smaller key.

As well, I have keys for the lockable sissy bar and windsheild. I'd love to match those to my ignition key.

Mine was replaced in '09 while the bike was under warranty. They replaced all the keyed locks so that everything was just as before. I wonder if they got cheap on you since it was out of warranty? Not very nice.

UPDATE: Just rec'd a note from my delaer. He said: "Please drop your Rocket III Touring off and we'll make it mono key again." Fantastic. Now THAT is service.

I'm doing a 5000-mile (in 100 hours) Iron Butt ride but will be bringing it into the shop for rekeys as soon as I return next week. I'll report back on how it goes.

trouble starting rocket

Gday everyone
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on why my rocket is being a ***** to start lately.
I put the key in turn it on and the bike goes through its usuall cluster sweep then i pull in the clutch and push the button but there is absolutly no response.
Im thinking maybe clutch sensor?
If i hold the starter on and the clutch in and roll the bike forward sometimes it fires up but it can take some time to get a response.
The bike is going in on wednesday to get checked out but im just impatient and want to know y **** it
could it be the dreaded ignition problems u speak of?

Just seen this post, did they find the problem?

Have you fitted the headlight relays yet? If not do it before you fit the new switch. I got the the whole lock set from triumph for free after a bit of prompting. Had to fit it my self though.

I carry two spare relays all the time as I have been stranded before because of a failure.
