In my youth some friends thought it would be humorous to go chasing some seal round with clubs (I know, I know...we were young and stupid).

I asked where they were going they told me and I told them good luck. My friends headed off on this mission and came back later saying they weren't sure how the guys in the old days knocked off most of the seals around NZ as when they approached them, they were attacked and were lucky to get away with their lives.

Turns out here's a BIG difference between seals and Sealion's

In Indiana we don't have seals so we grease pigs and chase them. Don't tell the animal lovers they will call it animal cruelty.
