I traded my original R3T toward a K1600GTL in 2011. That was probably the biggest trade mistake I've ever made.
I thought the K1600 would be a do-all type of touring / sport touring bike.
It was really quite tame, it was top heavy, and parts were expensive and scarce.
I rode the K1600 for about 8 months, and then traded it for a K1300S (my third of that model).
When I would return from rides on the K1600, my impression was "what great onboard storage, what wonderful weather protection, what cool high tech gadgets." I had the same general feelings when I used to return from rides on my original ST1100.
I missed the R3T, so I bought a duplicate 3 months after trading away the K1600. I owned the K1600 and an FJR 1300 concurrently, and I have to admit, I preferred the FJR. It was just as snappy, quite a bit lighter, and in my opinion, more nimble.
