How to TuneECU Video

I watch videos - I don't make 'em. What is it exactly you're having a problem doing?

Just a basic video of downloading the software, connection to the ECU, running the test, how to read the basic info on the display and resetting.
There have been so many people that are afraid to try it. So many that are afraid that they will mess up the ECU.
The same questions keep coming up.

Even though I had used tune boy I was a bit leary of using tuneecu on a new bike. However I got the cable and finally went for it. It worked like a charm. The only possible issue is installing the cable drivers. That doesn't work it won't ruin the bike, it just won't. There's not much to it. If one is too afraid to use it, then don't. Ther's already a video on YouTube. Besides, a lecture or technical advice would be sufficient. That's what these forums are for. Just ask.

Got any hair left, Nolton?

Guys, I don't see why this has to be so hard. You know when someone doesn't know how to attach a photo they could be told to read the instructions, or told to click on the attachment icon or better still, be told to look for the little picture that looks like a paper clip. Something like the latter is what's needed. The first 2 don't help someone who has no clue.

Thank you but I will bet no one gets it. I'm through with this thread.

Really!! This is just pathetic.

This thread that is frustrating you is also frustrating me as much as I really don't have the answer for you and really am no expert I only learnt about the program by reading and following the instructions as I do it on the laptop, having a video showing how to change fuel values is all well enough but unless you have tuned carbies and really understand what different AFR's manifold vacuum's relate to fuelling to give economy versus power you should not be changing the values, the tests are all self explanatory with on screen prompts.

My laptop is giving over heat prob's so have ordered a new Laptop when I get it I will attempt to make vid of installing software with my phone but promise nothing as the new one will be win 8 not sure if there will be any drama's .

What Dougl said is right you cant hurt your bike while setting up the laptop and the beauty of the program (unlike the PCV) is that you can download a tune from the web play with it while not being connected to bike, you would have to be lacking Common Sense to f*** your bike up with TuneECU and if that is the case you should not be playing with it to start with.

I have helped people over the phone by telling them what to do and answer any questions about what they are seeing on their screen which can vary from tune to tune. But to be able to cover all the variables in a video would be near impossible, It is not that I don't want to make a vid it is just that I would not know where to start and would not want some one to think it is always the same on every bike
besides I am no Computer geek and learn by trial and error taking care not to commit nothing unless I am sure about what I am doing
Cheers
Hans

The TuneECU downloadable manual (if you cant be bothered to read it then you should not be using TuneECU) uses pictures and does not use icons but uses words, any body that can not read these comprehensive instructions and does not have the patience to read and play while not connected to bike probably should not be playing with it at all.
The diagnostic tests as I mentioned have on screen prompt's so there is no reason to be scared of performing tests as the test can not do damage to bikes ECU.

Firstly, I'm not the one looking for the info; like Nolton, I'm trying to get some help for others.

What is needed? Well, assume someone has bought the cable, owns a laptop and has a bike. Then what? Step by step. A child's guide.

No point saying "load your cable driver" or whatever. Try setting out what that means and how it's actually done, what gets clicked on and where. No need to go jumping into tuning this or tuning that or a:f tables etc. Assume the person hasn't got there yet.

Once you've covered all the steps involved in getting stuff loaded and connected and switched on then would be the time to move on to how to use it to tune your bike or diagnose problems.
