How to by pass/void clutch sensor

It all comes in one unit with the light switch block. it in the harness with everything the block is just under 100 bucks.

When Mittzy broke his clutch lever on the way to Hervey Bay he bridged the switch so he could start in gear. Bike seemed to be running fine. Mittzy???

I do not see where it would hurt anything as you still have the gear semsor telling the ecu what gear its in. I doubt it bypasses that and make the bike think its in Nuetral. It is a safety hazard thow but then so is the speeds I ride at
Come to think of it if you wire it to a toggle hidden switch so it was like the clutch was not pulled in it would make it so no one could start the bike without knowing where the switch is.

Ordered a new sensor this morning. Since it broke and I bridged it, bike runs like crap...when I gun it, it takes off then hesitates a tiny bit then accelerates, when I come to a stop it acts like it wants to die and the headlight dims, I'm cruising along and pull in the clutch and rev it and it backfires. I don't see how the two are related, even the dealer said the same thing. Is this messing with the ecu? By the way, thanks for the input and the pics.
 
Update...I started it, unbridged the gap and it ran fine. To make it easier to start if it stalls on take off, I installed a temporary toggle switch and taped it to the clutch cable. To install the new sensor and wires, the plug in seems to be under the gas tank, does it have to come off to install it? The wire from the clutch lever to the frame seems to be at least 2 ft. long. Maybe an inline plug might work?

Hi Richard,
It was hard on the starter motor, but ran fine. The ego was the bit that was not running so well
 
Why?

I guess my question would be why? I took the rear lever off of the shift lever, as I hit the rear lever while trying to put the kick stand down a couple of times. All I need is to have one more safety device off of the bike.

My Harley and my ST1300 did not have one. But heck, it's no big deal to pull in the clutch lever to start the bike! Especially if the thing is in gear and still on the kick stand! I did that ONE time on my Harley. Lucky I was able to react quick or I, along with the bike, would have been on the ground!
