How much time should a mechanic/shop bill to change & balance a rear tire on RIIIR?

I did ok then having my rear gumboot fitted, rode in , he apparently struggled getting it on the rim, says he greased the rear drive and charged me $60 , not bad then

Interesting that you are replacing tires two at a time?!?!?!

Well, sometimes. With the Avons I can usually get 2 rears to one front, but the Metz fronts cup badly, and if I'm going on a distance trip I usually like 2 new tires. And it's a hassle having time to go, sometimes it's not worth getting another 1000 or 2 and having to go back again.

Last time i changed the tires it cost me $556.00 for front and back tires. Labor was $125.00. I could have saved another $85.00 buying the tires online, but how could i tell if i was getting new or old tires. The two dealers i called wanted $850.00 for every thing plus another $50 to clean the splines...

The guy who owns the shop can charge what he likes after all it is his place, ask for the price if not happy find some place else.
Shops make it look easy because they have all the correct tools when customers call me and say oh it's a simple job it will only take you 5min I ask them if it is so simple why do you not do it.

My local Triumph dealer charges 1 hour labor if on the bike. Off the bike: buy the tire from them it is $12.50. Bring in the tire it is $22.

Man! Has you a$$ healed up from the reem job you got?!?!?
This is worse than in OZ!
Next time buy from Rocky Mountain ATV and take wheels & tires to your local shop!
Rear Excedra Max = $174
Front Avon Cobra = $160
Mount/balance = $100
Total = $434
