Hey Atomsplitter that a sweet looking Hitch (I wish I had gotten my Classic Ind Tow Hitch in chrome finnish really) is it that made from hollow tube or solid and what weight is it rated at? The reason I ask is it appears the drawing weight is taken on the rear footpeg mounts, I don't know if I would like to put my overweight trailer on footpeg mounting bolts, or is it actually mounted to the sub-frame behind the pillion footpeg.
Please understand I am not having a shot at the Hitch, just asking cos the hitch sure looks the goods and I would consider shipping one over here if strong enought![]()
I'll sell you that hitch if you want it. The tubes are solid. it aligns to the peg holes. I used a #8 (I think) bolt through the peg to mount them. I used long bolts through the sub-frame to fender mounts and put a washer and nut to hold the vertical straps. I towed that trailer for 3000 miles loaded to the gunnels (about 300 pounds) with camping gear (including a stove). I also rode the 'dragon' but left the trailer off on that bit. If you want me to ship you the hitch let me know (we can work out a price).
