Has anyone had a problem with high idle after the bike warms up & if so what was the fix?(Steeper motor , TPS sensor or ???) It resets itself after the bike has been turned off and restarted

I know everyone has an opion and there are threads on this ....but I would prefer to hear from someone who has had this "exact" problem and has had it fixed.
Thanks

bikes in the shop now.............will report when I get it back.

A number of us with this problem - no official fix. Mine went away by itself (or so it seems for now) and another rider had a few tweaks here and there...there's a couple threads that follow this problem. :(

Thanks "Ogre", I'm taking my bike into the shop for the 2nd time for this.
They are replacing the steper motor which I hope solves the problem. I'll let you know if that solves my bike's problem.

"Captain Rich" I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I would think that your problem is just hiding until you take it out for a long fairly aggressive run ( somthing around 3000 or more rpm for a 45 minutes plus) if it doesn't your in luck.
My bike is fine as long as I keep the Rev's below 3000.

Unfortunately, Jeep, I'm with you on that one - I do expect it to come back...hopefully when I'm on the way to the dealer for the 2 yr maintenance schedule (next week).

Looking forward to Ogre's report on his service...my dealer and the Triumph folks he's talked to were all stumped by the problem. :(

Just to put a end to this thread.

My dealer took it upon themselves to replace the complete throttle body assembly. This is after replacing the steper motor and doing various downloads and adjusments.

The bike seems to run great at all RPM and does not have any issues with idle.

The "official word from Triumph" as of now...........according to service rep.

They are being contacted by numerous dealers re: the high idle prob.

They admit there is a problem.

They feel it is mechanical/electrical ( :?:  ).

They do not have a fix for it yet.

They are working on it.

They have no timeframe as of now for when there will be a solution.

That is all......... :?

Hi Idle

Hey ogre and jeep I have been experiencing the same problem idle jumps to 2500 rpms at will I can't predict when. I shut the bike down and power back up and she idles fine for a unpredictable while. Last night after reading the manual section 11.130 (Idle stepper motor) well it was a little Greek and I am only good at Polish so I went for a ride while being pissed off on the road with a high idle again I put the bike in neutral to take a look see and reached down to check the wire harness going to the Idle speed stepper motor was plug in and no sooner then touching the harness plug with a slight wiggle (enough to see if the plug latches were engaged and basically plugged in) and the idle dropped down to a respectable level. I was curious if I was getting intermediate voltage changes as the plug vibrates while running. so while I was driving down the road I reached down grabbed the plug and gave her just a little wiggle and the Idle pucked up again . I repeated this several time to make sure it was not a fluke and every time it changed again. Even at a stop I was able to wiggle it and got down to 500 rpms to low I know but I think this might be part of my/our problems. Ogre I do not know who you talked to at Triumph but I would like to speak to them about it to it might help them figure it out.

I just got my tuneboy in today and am having problems installing it or at least I think so my computer said the cd has nothing on it. So I went to their site I down loaded the TuneBoy and TuneEdit full install version 3.5.5 I think I have it but I am not sure and I do not want to pug it in the bike till I know I wont screw the bikes ecu up any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
