Here's an interesting and worrying fact , 150 cc LESS oil in my left fork than there was in the right . Never been apart before and never leaked , so must have been that way from assembly !

That seems to be a hell of a lot of difference. What is the fill amount in the manual (I'm too lazy to look LOL)? Did you pump/cycle them both a few times when/after draining?

Yes it is hellava lot .would certainly explain why the bike cornered so much better to the right as to the left !
The manual I have is for the tourer which states 667cc which is more it seems than the roadster to get the 89mm air gap ! The old fluid was pumped out and the damper pumped at least 20 times till empty and then the Forks were left inverted overnight . Oil retrieved in right leg was 600cc whereas oil from left leg was 450 cc . The springs were drawn out slowly so as to retrieve as much oil as possible ! 600 cc went back into both Forks and the air gap was spot on ! Go figure ?

I am confident with the finished result and Forks definitely feel stiffer . Only way to be sure of improvement now will be a zip tie around each slider and a good hard ride when back on the road . The zip ties will give a good indication of fork travel being used !
