Heated Gear

Hello David, I ride year round and just broke out the heated liner and gloves from Tourmaster. They work well for me till it gets down into single digits F. A 30 minute ride in 0 F at 85 MPH gets chilly quick.
Last winter, one of my gloves started to go bad on me and because it is three years passed warranty, I figured I would need to buy new. However, when I contacted Tourmaster about possible repairs, they simply replaced the set with new. I am very happy with their customer service.
About the road surface, I am very happy with my Exedra Max tires when it is cold or wet. I wrote about my stupidity last December when riding to work on a 30 something degree day in the fog. The bike was taking long deep breaths of air and as I approached a long sweeper that is fine at 85MPH, it hit me that at 105 on wet dark pavement might be a problem. I had no other choice but to ride it out and see what happens. I leaned forward and over the mirror as I pulled Brahma down into it. The tires stuck just fine and I held the line with no drift. I bring this back up as I believe the tires are what saved my dumb butt that morning, not any skill I think I have. Maybe your tires on the Rocket could use a swap. I have the R3T so my rear tire is smaller than yours yet bigger than your Valkyrie.

My heated vest just arrived from China today, been wearing it all day at work even though its not cold today, has three heat pads, two by my kidneys and one center back was $78USD with a power-bank battery and free shipping. I'm not expecting much out of this, as you get what you pay for, but so far I'm very happy, will be trying the heated socks tonight now the power-banks have also arrived. Now I've just got to hide it from the wife, or not tell her its heated might work, if she finds it, it'll be lost forever

I got a heated vest,glove inserts,neck and face warmer and head band from Ride Warm for 125 bucks shipping and all . I used them at Maggie Valley and I was toasty warm..There was a few morning it was in the 20's ..

Hippo Hands work well with heated grips and allow light weight flexible gloves to be worn.
Jim @RKTNMYPKT and I were riding cold rain freezing our selves over the Utah mountains freezing our slightly large asses off!
Stopped by a hardware store and picked up some gloves like these:
Kinco Size L PVC Chemical Resistant Glove, Orange, 4160-L - Walmart.com
After 1500 or so miles, I have found these work AWESOME! I can wear my leather gunslingers inside and remain perfectly warm.
Haven't had to use my Gerbing gear for three years!

I have used them several times since.
They work so well, they are now a permanent part of my left pannier.

Does anybody here use heated gear when riding their Rocket? I have a taller windscreen that takes the direct wind off my face on my Honda Valkyrie, so I ride my Valk in the winter. I do use heated undergarments under full leathers. It makes for some nice rides. I don't ride the Rocket in the winter. Too much power on wet pavement. I also find the 240 rear tire slides more than the 180 on my Valk. Just wondering about other peoples experiences?
