head light off when you use TuneEcu

Yes.. because it is important that the battery can provide full voltage to the ECU while your using TuneECU and the headlights can drain the battery well below 12 volts very quickly. If the ECU isn't getting the right amount of power, it could cause problems when your uploading a tune to it.

Right, ny much success with my first try, after connecting the cable to the bike and the lap top, the lap top didi as the questio about a driver, does this mean I have to use the disc that came witht he cable.
Opened up the tune ecu file but there was no connection, what have I done wrong here.

I ended up installing a driver, then the communication right, the red light went to yellow than green, but the reen was flashing fast, is this right.

The other strange thng was the bike would not start with the head light fuse out, had to put is toi start the motor.

In test mode mode I could not get the fan to manually cut in, nor when I reved the motor did the TPS gauge move.

How does al this sound to you guys that are experienced with TuneEcu

Infact I leave it in on my 09 also for that very reason I was told the standards take it out and roadsters leave it in but my 09 standard won't start without it either so it must be 08 back

Even on the Roadster I put the battery on a tender and pull the headlight fuse during the data transfer as I notice that the voltage drops too fast for comfort with the headlights on.

Scared the Hell out of me the first time I flashed a tune and the bike wouldn't start.

Then I thought to put that fuse back in. Talk about a panic attack followed by sigh of relief.
